No, a 306 will not make noticeably more power than a 302. But the bores will be more true.

I would use all ARP hardware on the bottom end if you can afford it. Take the crank and have it turned (if your crank is able to be cut and stay within tolerance).... Use all new bearings, and bring your rods to your machinist and ask him if he thinks they should be resized. You DONT want to hafta do this again 2000 miles later....

*edit* and as for the compression.... as long as youre not running crap gas (which you shouldnt be anyway..) youll be FINE with a 10:1 compression ratio. If youre building a N/A motor, the more the marrier (to an extent)

I would plan on having the rods re-sized, then getting new bolts. Stock rods with miles on them aren't known to stay round in the rod end very long.
I also don't think you'll have a problem with 10:1 compression if you use 91 (or better) gas...

Well looks like im going with the hyper pistons and they are 9.08 to 1 compression. Well do you thinks its worth the money to bore it .30 over if I have no wear on the walls? What does resizing the rods do

Youve decided on pistons, but you havnt decided on the bore? You do know that if you bore it .030 over you need bigger pistons to accomodate that, right?

and if i were you, id use a higher comp piston..... Compression makes power.

Well i was getting new pistons anyway thats why I thought I would bore it out yes I know I need bigger pistons. What would be the ideal compression ratio and what does resizing the rods do

I would go for 10:1 - 11:1 if you never plan on running a blower. 9:1 just isnt enough for a N/A car.

Resizing the rods just makes sure theyre perfectly round. Your machinist should be able to tell you if they need resizing or not.... they may not even need to be resized, but if they do, DONT just throw them back in (if you want a long lasting engine)

60cc heads would have a lower compression... you can get them milled down though at a machine shop its pretty cheap where i live its like 50 a head.
