no it doesn't, what your calling the map on an 89 , even though it looks like a map sensor is what is refered to as BAP sensor, it is used for barometric pressure change/ altitude change

Well since I am not a mechanic I will only state what I was sold. A MAP sensor for a 1989 MUstang from Auto ZONE part # SU208.

Looks like a duck quacks like a duck but if it is really a fish I am okay with it. The problem is the retarded idle.

vaccum, maf, iac, plugs, cap and rotor, wires...i had alot of surges when my plugs had alot of build up..as well as one of my plug wires sitting on the header...could be a number of things...timing?

FYI, the map and bap are the same sensor. On speed density it is a map and on MAF it is a bap. When I converted mine over to MAF, I just removed the vacuum line and it became a bap.
