Well, as some of you know, I put some ne billets on a few weeks and today is a good race day here in IL...Low and behold, several of the 1/2-20 3" studs are striped. So, I have new 3" studs, 3 quarts of gear oil with additive...I assume I will have to remove the axels, and get the old studs out and have pressed the new ones in? I took a good look to see and there are NO C clip eliminators and the base of the rear Axel. Anybody have some experience that can shed some light on this little project? Thanks. PS, I used bad lug nuts...I'm bad!
a nice straight shot with a big hammer will press them out and an open end lug nut will press the new one in when you tighten it up. This is assuming its a stock stud/axle set up.
he doesn't have stock length studs, they are 3 inch, pull the rear cover, then the pinion pin , push axles in and c-clips will fall out and axles pull right out

ha i missed that part somehow. yeah do as mjr said its really very easy, while your at it if they have never been changed you might as well change your axle seals too.

That is exactly what I am going to do. I have never done this before but it should be pretty straight forward I assume? Once I pull the axels out can I do this on the bench?
yup you can. one other thing when you are unbolting the cover leave the top bolt in and pry the bottom off a little bit. if you undo all the bolts and just pry the cover off you are more than likely gunna get covered in gear oil and trust me you dont want that.

Yea, thanks...That I did know, I'm pissed at my self for striping them in the first place...How long of a job do you think this is? From start to finish?
