Question $$Power pipe+95mm PMAS OR cheap 75mm PMAS

Trying to deside, need some advice.

I can get a $190 75mm PMAS MAF that will work with my 24lb injector's and my current intake tube, and its also not much bigger then my 70mm throttle body for CHEAP

OR

I can spend a extra $340 on a Anderson Power Pipe, and PMAS 95mm MAF even though my throttle body is only a 70mm.

Im not that sure that I would gain much to be worth the extra $340 with my small throttle body.

and there is also the choice for a "custom" chip that is $180. which ive been told might be the proper route, as it will let my 1993 Cobra maf work correctly (i switched back to the OEM maf before the tear down because the dyno showed the Cobra MAF was making the car burn almost a full point to rich)

the chip would make the Cobra maf work, and ive heard can help with the cam as the injector pulse's will be off with the overlap of the cam?

anyway, im just looking for some advice because im not sure how my car will run once it is back togeter, and want to get it running the best I can!

thanks in advance.

well i would love a spider intake, 90mm throttle body, power pipe, and 95mm Pmas. That would be a sick set up.

1.) that's a ton of money

2.) its just a little 302, gonna probably max out around 6200-6500RPM

So im not sure if that set up would work well.

If I remember right you dont have any tuning? just the MAF? what is your set up?

I agree it is nice to have that stuff most of it i got for cheaper than list price. And how would that stuff not work well, the more air into the motor the better. And your correct i dont have any computer tuning

It's just my perception that a 4+inch maf, intake tube, throttle body and such would be over kill on a mild 302.

IDK, I did see Joel's thread over on SBFTech, but it goes against what I know.

What about the Abaco DBX MAF's????

seem's for $400 you can get a huge maf, that you can also tune the car with.....

I would like the 97mm DBX as its 4" which would mate up perfect with a anderson powerpipe.

anyone's thoughts?

On my car, it would be another psi with just the larger maf. You could always make a 90mm Maf mount to the stock air box.

Don't know on a n/a motor how all that would work. A 302 doesn't need much air to run.

F$@# the PMAS, screw the DBX. and junk the 93 cobra maf.

get a LMAF, get a tune, and be super happy. Stock ford maf's are proven to be better quality than ANY aftermarket maf on the market.

if your car isnt pulling >1700 cfm of air (which it wont be) then it is MORE than enough maf for you... and did i mention its $85 new?

85$ + whatever the tune will cost to get it right, which would be the same cost as getting the 95mm pmas

I still had to have a tune after the p-mas on my car. Mine is supercharged but, I have read n/a cars need a tune also. Part throttle detonation was the problem with the n/a cars. Others were okay. I believe cam has a lot to do with it. Especially the ones that cause low vacuum.
