i have a 93 mustang with a 2.3L in it... and also a 87 with 5.0.. ive taken out both engines and transmissions.. also disconnected the computers and wiring harnesses.... ive taken the 5.0 computer and harness and installed it in my 93 mustang but there are a few connecters that have nothing to plug into.. there is one extra connnecter at the computer that doesnt plug into the harness and a few more in the engine bay.. i was wondering if anyone has done a swap from an older year model to a newer year like this and what i can/have to do to finish... i also think that my 93 has airbags and i have taken the sensors off that were connected to the harness but i have no way of connecting them back with the gt harness because it didnt have airbags... can anyone help???

im doing the same thing right now. as i understand it...you either need to custom wire to make the 2.3 harness work with some sensors. or take the time and completely swap all harnesses out.

so what all do I have to swap. The whole harness from under the dash and all? I was hoping I wouldn't have to take thebdash out but if that's what I have to do then I will

yup yup, take her out. quite the mess doesnt take long though. you can get it done with a case of beer, pizza and a good afternoon.

yea so i just when down to my dads garage today where my car is and i got about that far as ur picture shows.. i took the dash and all out but still have the wiring harness still to take out.. is everything going to have to be swapped over.. like the cluster and ac controls or will they plug into each other.. because some of the gauges on the gt cluster dont work but all of the ones in my 93 work... it was such a pain gettin the dash off and i dont want to do it all again on my 93 but if i have to then o well... it didnt take long i just didnt know what i was doing but it came off....but now i just have the other harness that comes through the drives side of the firewall and im not sure where it all goes too and what all exactly im going to have to swap over?!?!? what year mustangs are u swapping???

yea cool.., so where all does that wiring harness go once it comes in the firewall?.. how far are u in the swap?

im prepping my car currently for paint. so the 91 is stripped and being prepped. the 89 is still together and i drive it every now and again until the 2.3 is complete. then i will swap it all.

ahhh ok.. yeah im gonna paint my car too but i thought id wait until i got the engine swapped out and everything so i dont scratch it up at all of anything.... but i wanna first get this whole wiring problem figured out... its killing me... ive got everything else ready but this...

how much of the harness am i going to need or where do i disconnect it from? ive gotten the whole dash off pretty much exaclty like the picture from fivepointohh but im not sure what to do next.... i know the harness but idk where or how much??? any help?!?!
