Default Pro 5.0 shifter

I keep reading about an "offset shift mechanism." Does this mean that first and second are in line with each other? (more specifically, a line parallel to the driveshaft)

Default Pro 5.0 shifter

This means that as with most T5 and other 5 speed stangs, the whole plane of shifting is somewhat "tilted" to the left. Where as 3rd gear in a mustang is like where most 1st gears are in other cars. So the gears are farther towards the driver to allot for better force on the shifter, as well as easier reach since the whole shifter itself is mounted kind of far away. So when the Pro 5.0 says its offset a little, its just saying that the shifter is still in the same position as the stock one, just with shorter thows and better engagement.
