Default Cam Question

Since i am going to a Carb set up, what about the cam. I see on CompCam website they have Carb Roller cams and EFI. What is the difference.

Is their select few cams i can use. What would happen if i put a EFI cam in a carb set up.

I don't want to do custom right now. But i was a cam with a very aggressive idle that will help me get to 350-400hp at the rear wheels.

Also a question about the Ford Cams,

What ford cam packs the most power and aggressive idle

If the cams go in order wouldn't the X or Z cam be the biggest

Are they capable of being used with a carb set up.

Cam selection or the design of a cam (if you choose custom), requires a lot more detailed information than the type of induction you will use or idle sound characteristics ..... specially with those aggressive HP goals at the wheels... + the alphabet cams will not support your performance goals.

Replace that intake for a good old Victor Jr. add the correct valve train based on the cam profile, and a custom cam will take your setup there. Just like the real life 331 sample case.

Right at peak HP for ~700-800 RPM and above 300 ft-lbs of torque for a 4100 RPM span after ~2600 RPM.
