ORIGINAL: Quik

if you cant get DRs to hook then your suspension is set up wrong and you probably have to much air in them.

DRs been known to go 7s so getting a 12 or 13 or 14 second car to hook on DRs shouldnt be that hard. just setup the suspension properly
Its not that its set up wrong, its set up for the street., with the occasional bracket race. Koni adjustables with Ford Racing 7/8" lowered springs. Its certainly not ideal for the drag strip, but if the outside temperature were below 95 the spinning would be minimal.Thats been the problem this summer. Hot as a beyatch. My local track is an Outlaw track and will never be known for hooking in all conditions. Last Sunday it was 97 degrees and the track was like butter and I still ran a 13.2@ 104 with 15psi in the tires. However, I will be running next weekend at Route 66 dragstrip in Joliet, Illinois at the NMRA. Everyone hooks there, including John Force. Would like to have some torque box support before that.

you were talking about putting bolts in those torque boxes & plates, there is nothing wrong with doing that if you want to , but the welder can also use those bolt holes to weld in too. good luck & keep hunting for good traction.

Just ordered some stainless steel lower supports from a guy on another board. "Stangnet" He owns a shop in Pa. They have an extra plate that the other people don't offer. They look very strong. I'll worry about the uppers at another time. I really wanted to have the lowers in by the 30th of July for the NMRA. That track hooks like no other and didn't want to risk tearing them up.

Quik, just wanted you let you know that I look forward to reading your comments and your input man. You're one of the people I would like to respond to my questions, rather than people who guess and give misinformation. Keep it up dude!

definately serious- I respect how you won't post without being knowledgable. More people should do that. I just see too many arguments over who knows what, or how someone posted something that was incorrect, or who knows more about a certain subject, or how someone needs to show someone up, or how someone is a noob........etc. So, yeah, your info is good.
