I just got my 88 Stang GT, and it already had an aluminum radiator with a new set of dual cooling fans and they were already wired up. Problem is the way that had it wired up was causing my ignition switch to go out over night every time i replaced it with a new ig switch. My question is this.....where is the best place to hook the yellow wire up to a 12v switched source to where i am not replacing ignition switches everyday????? any help is appreciated, and i am sorry if this has been posted already, but i didnt see anything when i did a search on the website here!!

to the switched side of the solenoid would be the best option, with an inline fuse. if its blowing ignition switches while the car is off, its wired wrong.

Is a relay wired in as well? That will also help protect w/e circuit you have it wired in to.

yeah it has a relay wired in, matter of fact the wire in question comes off the relay for the fans....

I wired mine using the same controller in this post, but a 95 Merc. villager fan. It has some good general info, that could be applied to any elec. fan install.
