Car smokes badly and plugs are black. where to start?

Yeah, a compression test would probably be a good place to start. You may have blown a ring or even cracked a piston.

Well "MJR46" i dont know what you are i guess somekind of admin but when your aggrevated and you post somethin on here to get help and someone post a smart alec commit i'm not goin to be polite b/c it is appearent that he has no intentions to help in the first place, so if you have no intentions on helping why post something? Therefore i really dont care about your warning. I do however appreciate the ideas unfortunately it hasn't turned out to be something that easy. "pro50sc" I appreciate the help 2 of the cylinders have very little compression so i'll just put one of my other bottom ends in it thanks though

G/l man, I hope you get it worked out. Do you know what the lack of compression is from? Or have you not gotten that far yet?
