Default 5.0 died looking for in depth guidance

First off I want to thank anyone for any useful input before I even start, so thank you!

Here is the situation; Oil pump locked up in my 90 foxbody did some damage to the crank it appears and I may have had some issues with a few other things. It appears that I had oil burning in 3 or 4 cylinders to begin with.
So what I am doing is having my uncle rebuild the engine for me. He is a good mechanic and knows a good machine shop to turn the crank and bore the cylinders if need be.

Here is what the engine had on it before all this happened; Vortech V1 supercharger, Roush 200 heads, GT40 U + L intake, I believe E303 or B303 cam(unsure on that), 24lb. ford motorsport injectors, Accel 300+ race ignition, King Cobra Ford Motosport clutch and pressure plate, 3 core radiator, no smog equipment, Headman headers, 2 chamber Flowmasters, off-road h-pipe, 3:73 gears.

And Here is what I am trying to accomplish; I am looking for a good build to model this engine off of. I bought this car with everything that it had done to it and really have no idea how it is setup and to be honest I am a horrible mechanic, I know not alot other than how to turn the wrench. But I am looking for a good daily driver setup for a 15 minute drive back and forth to work everyday with a hell of a kick to it. I love good ole american muscle but I have never been a good mechanic. I am looking for guidance through setting up this engine properly and giving facts about these 5.0's rather than opinions. My uncle is a hell of a mechanic but doesn't deal with performance builds, so I am trying to do my part on the research on what needs to be done to the engine on any aspect. Also I am looking at changing out parts for a better configurations such as heads and cam... but I dont know where to go in that direction so guidance would be needed. All and all this will be a budget build and like I said it will be a daily driver not a track car but i would like to sit around the 400hp range or better. I would estimate that around 5000 dollars is what I would be willing to spend.

I have tried to be descriptive as possible while staying on the point but if there is anything that needs cleared up or added please let me know! thanks again to everyone here at mustang forums!

get a better cam and decide on how much boost you will be running and that'll dictate inj size as 24 's with boost may not be enough, use the heads and intake, they will support your goal on boost most likely

it may be more expensive than a rebuild or it may be less than a rebuild but look at some of the crate engines that ford and some other companies carry. I might think about the 347 stroker that ford carries that has like 450 horsepower.

man i dont know much but I want to go with either a s/c 302 with AFR 185 heads and a BBK Intake, not sure if the intake would handle that much air but I think it would have mad torque. a 331 stroker with 185s would be sick. maybe a 302 would work better with 165s. but its one of those combos i'm looking to build. my stock block with some 165s and a BBK SSI intake then step it up get a supercharger - stroker - a built block - 205s and 18psi would be sick. as for cam... i'm going to call comp cams and see what they recommend. you would probably need different pistons depending on the setup, but the 185s would flow around what the Roush heads do? like i said i dont know much but thats my best guess. better safe than sorry on fuel get 36lbs or 42 to add more later... next time something brakes.

no, it doesnt.. If you wanna see how to build an engine, come swing by my house some time. I'll show you a properly built motor!

at a significantly lower price than that crappy crate motor

i like the 347 idea. sell the s/c and take that money with what youre willing to spend and get the crate 347. that engine is nasty. im thinking about getting one here soon also. if you want to keep the s/c then some185 heads and a better cam is where id start. that bbk intake is no good. that gt-40 intake is fine maybe some porting to it.

what is it with everyone wanting a BBK SSI INTAKE??? Besides the fact that it's the ugliest fooking intake out there , it tops the list as one of the crapiest flowing intakes out there for producing/supporting power production, and I sure hope you don't caLL THE 7 DOLLA' an hour techline to have a cam designed.......

the supercharger I have is rated at 6lbs I believe but I may get an undersize pully to get a lil more from it. The main thing is that when its all put together it runs, and runs right

I was thinking about getting the GT40 heads to go with the GT40 upper and lower intake that I already have.. two questions.. The heads will swap right out with the roush 200 heads? and what cam should i get with that?
