Default Cold Start wont stay running

I have a 90 gt and when it is cold i am having problems keeping it running. It just recently started this. I know there are alot of posts just like mine but none have really linked to a bad iac. When it is started cold the idle will drop after a few seconds and will drop low enough to kill it. My instinct is telling me iac or tps just wanted to get some input. It also only happens for about 30 seconds and it is done and idles fine.

Do you do anything to make the computer lose power overnight? Just a thought that what you are describing sounds like an initial start after a memory wipe.

+1.

You can sweep test the TPS if you think that is the culprit. Its a simple procedure. You can also see if the IACV is gummed up with carbon deposits by just removing those 2 screws holding it in place. I would recomend a new gasket if you pull the IACV off.

Have you tried to reset the base idle?

Pull Codes first

first run a koeo/koer test, if no codes, make sure there is no carbon build up in the throttle boby/ on the throttle plate area, if none make sure no vaccum leaks are present
