Default fuel pump problems.

So i just finished installing headers, and when i went to start the car, i didn't hear the fuel pump. The car cranks over, but there isn't any fuel. Is there anything i can do/check. I don't know anything about the fuel system, so any help would be appreciated.

did you check the fuel shut off switch in the rear of the car? that is the first thing and the easiest thing to check. it is on the driver side should be a hole in the rear trim panel to reach your finger in and push the button try it maybe thats it.

I haven't checked the shut off switch. I think i have the fuel pump working. When i turn the key i can hear the pump turn on. Is there a way i can check if i am actually getting fuel? and do i need to restart the fuel pump?

There should be a shraeder valve on the fuel rail. After the pump has pressurized the system, press that valve momentarily and some fuel should squirt out. That way you know that you have fuel all the way up to the injectors.

Does the car still not start after the system has been primed by the fuel pump?

Did you check for spark, if so how? Did you check for fuel? if so, how?

Now would be a good time to invest in some starting fluid. A very quick test right there to diagnose if your getting no fuel, or no spark.....

Let us know

I haven't primed my car yet. I did check for spark. I unplugged a wire to the spark plugs and inserted a screwdriver the inside of the boot and cranked the car. The wire didn't spark. I did the same thing for the wire that goes to the coil and it has spark. i took the ignition module to autozone so they can test it and it passed three times. I was told installing a new stator would solve this problem. trying starting fluid wouldn't be a bad idea once i get spark. Tomorrow i'll be installin a stator, i'll keep you guys updated. Thanks for all the help!

spark from the coil but not out of the wires would indicate a prob in dizzy, it's possible a bad stator but I'd test it first rather than throw parts at it, a bad cap or rotor can cause the same issue
