can you run a .030 over chevy piston in a .030 302 block to get a higher compression engine

your gunna need to be more specific than that but ive heard of ppl using chevy pistons in strokers

it depends on the type of piston weather it be a flat top, dome, piston relief size, positive or negative cc's. only way to tell is look at the box they come in or a spec sheet as far as the specific info needed to figure out if you wil have higher compression or not.

i am wanting to build 331 but use domed chevy pistons to get the higher compression say around 11-11.5-1 just on the verge of not being able to run 93 oct

my 347 uses ford 331 pistons. and I make 11.25:1 comp...

dont cross breed, just get the right stuff

the pin is a different size the valve placement is probably different and you will need to look at Compression Height. While it has been done. Why would you when there are off the shelf pistons that will work
