Default opinions on a budget 5.0l build

Hello I’m new to the 5.0l world and am in the market to turn up the power on my 87 lx 5sp. I’m on a tight budget but I think I have worked out a good reliable setup within my price range. I am interested to see if any of you see any problems with this setup or if I should change or avoid any thing. My target is around 300hp @ 6000rpm on a stock short block incase you are wondering.

The Goods:
UPR cold air intake
90mm lightning mass air 32lb setting
Professional Products 75mm TB
Lightly ported Explorer intake
Lightly ported gt40p heads w/ Comp Cams dual valve springs (can these heads be decked for higher compression)
Comp Cams xe270hr cam
Pro Comp 1.7 RR
Brothers main support w/ windage tray
Brothers 7qt. oil pan
OBX longtubes (I heard these fit “p” heads but does any body know for sure?)
Off-road h-pipe
Pypes cat-back
Accel coil/ 90deg. wires/ cap-rotor/ platinum plugs
Cobra ecu
32lb injectors

P.S. we have no emissions in Michigan so I would be removing the cats and as much of that crap as I can (ie. Smog pump, cats, egr equipment, ect.).

Thanks in advance,

Dave

so far this is just what i have planned. the car will be used as a weekend car but will see ocasional time at the local strip and opentrack days at the road course. when i priced everything out i came up with a total just shy of $2k (a couple local guys are giving my a pretty good deal on some of the stuff used).

wouldn't the mas air caliberated to the injector size take care of 24LB program on the ecu?

erm....i'd put some extra research into your build. 4k could get your a kick *** top end set up and lightyears faster than that "planned" set up. as far as usage, do understand you wont be able to be really good at both strip and auto x. two different worlds and set ups. i'd pick one and run with it. then you can better plan your future.

thanks for all of your input. i wasn't realy planning on the car being setup idealy for any of the events that it will be taken to, i just want a good ballance for the three. my budget is pretty much set at around 2k, but i guess i should probably do some more research before doing anything. recomendations any one?
thanks again for the help,
dave
