EGR questions????
I have put a 5.0 in my 60's mustang and while doing so i have eliminated all the smog stuff. the only thing that needs to be dealt with on the motor is the egr valve. Im wondering what are the benefits to removing this thing? Is it really worth it and what will it change? If the pros outweigh the cons, what is the proper way for removing it? I have researched this very little but on some forum posts it is said the best way to do it is by getting a chip or something of that nature. Other than that being the best way to remove it electronically, how about physically? Just use a blockoff plate? Or is there another part that will completely remove it and be very clean looking?
For now, since it is still on my car what is the best thing to do with it? should i hook it up to intake vacuum or just block it off?
Thanks

so get the 65mm EGR Eliminator Plate $35.00 and the Original EGR Eliminator $20.00?
Then cap off the two coolant lines?
I noticed in your picture you capped off the recirculation thing on the throttle body.. i like that idea. I still have the original valve covers and where would i re route the breather on the gooseneck oil filler? I know **** about breathers and stuch.... could i just cap it off? i removed the line that went from my pcv valve to my intake and just replaced it with a breather due to it sucking a **** load of oil into the intake.

Just get a longer coolant hose and run it from the metal coolant tube directly to the intake, instead of capping off the coolant lines.
Get the MIL eliminator, it is a black thing that plugs into the EGR harness.
You don't need to get an EGR eliminator plate. You could just close off the EGR hole with a piece of metal.

I removed the egr and made an aluminum plate to cover the hole on the intake. I cut out the connector from the harness so my computer shows an egr fault. The better way is to do as Tony71502 suggested and get the eliminator that plugs into the harness and fools the computer into thinking it is still attached.

the cap off points that im talking about are the 2 lines that go into the egr plate, 1 in and one out. Both stub off one of the main two tubes that run under the upper intake on the passenger side of the engine block(these are the stock black tubes where one is connected to the intake manifold and the other if i remember right has a hose that connects right to the water pump. the other two ends go to the heater core).
