Default Underdrive pullies

I am looking at getting a set of underdrive pulleys.
I have a 1995 mustang 5.0
I was wondering if the fox body underdrive pulleys would work on my car.
because they say 87 - 93 ?
ALSO, which are better underdrive pulleys - aluminum or the steel pulleys ??
thanks guys

Aluminum is lighter, but more expensive than steel. Which is better is up to you.

I believe the water pump pulley is smaller on the 79-93 UD kits than it is on the 94-95 kits.

alright -- i was just wondering if the aluminum spun faster than the steel -- but the aluminum and steel are about that same ? or would it be better to get aluminum because its lighter -- or would steel work just fine ??

The type of metal does not determine the speed at which it will turn. They are functionally the same. Steel rusts, aluminum corrodes (if not properly protected with paint or anodizing). Be aware that with your alternator spinning slower, you may be in a discharge situation at idle with your lights and heat/a.c running.

The aluminum is lighter and will have less rotational inertia than a steel one. This will reduce parasitic power loss and yes make it rev faster.

How much faster? Maybe 0.05% faster. You won't notice the difference. But they do look shiny!!

Charging and cooling issues are only magnified by pulley install. If pulleys cause dead batteries/overheating... fix your damn car.

Used Mac pulleys on my car. Does not overheat or discharge battery. Might be the larger radiator and 130 amp alternator (94-95) or maybe just luck. Bubba

I ran pulleys on a stock radiator and stock alternator. No problems for 2 years. Now I run a 130 amp and stock radiator. Still no problems.
