Raditor core support question
I was wondering if it was poosible to weld in a core support for 90-93 into an 86 notch. The previous owner did a front clip swap from a 90 and the clip dosent seem to have the correct fitment. The car at one time was involved in a front end collision and the core support needs to be replaced anyway. Would it be stupid to go ahead and change it to another year other than an 86 and why?

I'm fairly certain that all the foxes had the same body. They just kept drilling new holes when they changed the mechanical parts... but left all of the old holes there.
That's why fenderwells look like swiss cheese.

ok thanks. I have to order one so this definetely helps. Is it really difficult to change? I have a flux core welder and it doesnt make the nicest weld...lol. Im trying to figure out whether or not to take it somewhere to get done.

Your welds look alot better than mine. The flux core welder I have is a joke. I was doing floor pans on another project of mine and it blew right through the metal at every setting. Im hoping the same wont happen when I attack the core support. Once the core support is done Im going to heavily attackthe motor. Going to rip it down to bare and star from the ground up. Its gonna be carb. Any setup as far as head/cam/intake/carb that anyone has had decent number gains with? I want a streetable car. Nothing too crazy. Want to end up in the 300-350hp level. I have alot of plans for the car. My budget (aka wife) has other plans for the budget. I want to keep it relatively budget friendly.

I can weld. Its just that the welder I have is crap. Its a cheap one from harbor freight. I should have known better than to have bought a welder for a small dollar amount. There is loads of slag and the welds look like a ball of metal vomit when i use it.
