Hello everyone I just bought my mustang its the 4th one ive owned. The car has been sitting for about 2 years it has 126,000mi.When I drove it home it ran really rough it would die about every mile till I got her home.Also the car had about 1/8 of a tank of fuel. Once she was home I added a 1/2 a tank in along with some fuel treatment. Ive put new plugs wires dist.cap rotor and ignition coil on it its a stock 5.0. My problem is it will run for aprox 5 minuits fine and then die with no warning and then become hard to start. once it restarts after about 5 to 10 cranks it will run fine for a couple of minuits then start to spit and sputter and die. Any Ideas would be greatly appriciated.Thanks in advance.

start with a test of the TFI module, and PIP. If that checks out, check fuel pressure. 39psi.

Thanks for the reply. Whan I test those do I just run ohmes through them or what. also do you know how I can pull codes on my 87? Thanks

Hey thanks mattdel. I tested the tfi with my meter and it tested ok. then I decided to take it to autozone for a test. It passed the test the first 4 tests then after it warmed up it started to fail wich made sense on why it it would only run while the engine was cold. Now she runs like a champ. Any way thanks again for the help.
