rpm not smooth, kinda jumpy

on my 1994 cobra the rpms arent smooth when im 100% on the throttle. It happens when i get around 4700+ RPMS. what could cause this? The distributer cap and rotor are new, the plugs only have 3,000 miles on them; along with the wires. Could this be a mass air flow sensor?

Define not smooth? Does the RPM shoot up? If it does that could be the clutch slipping when you start making a lot of power at that RPM.
