Electric fan question
1988 mustang 5.0 I'm puting in a electric fan with a relay. I have the main power source going of the the starter switch. What is somthing close by I can tap into for a triger wire... Out there question is it ok to go off the triger wire off the Coil??? Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help but Off the relay I have a ground wire, power wire, wire going into the fan, fan is also grounded.. But I was looking for a triger wire close by the starter switch for power when I turn the key on so the fan kicks on with a key... The closet thing I can find is the triger wire off the Coil is that ok or do you have a better idea... Thanks agian for your help

Well id prefer to run a toggle switch than having the fan run all the time, even at high highway speeds.
Theres several key-on sources you could use for the rad. fan seeing as your using a relay. Just grab a wiring diagram and see what components use key-on voltage

You might as well put back the engine driven fan. An electric fan running all the time defeats EVERY reason to use it.
Get an automatic controller and have it trigger the fan. Have it trigger the fan to run when ever the temperature creep above thermostat temperature.
A proper system should ONLY need the fan running when driving super slow or when you are stopped.

You can wire it into the ignition if youd like.
I agree though, it does kind of defeat the purpose if you run it all the time and most likely, its really not necessary.
There are a few companies out there who make nice controllers, some people use cheap autozone controllers that work for them. Theres also good companies out there like DC & Spal just to name a few.
