Default '93 LX steering loose??

HOWDY, new guy here.. Did a search and found no hits... Have a 93LX(5.0) with about 275,000 miles(barely broke in??). When I turn the steering all the way to the left-the whole front end feels like it shifts position(as in loose)... No other issues with steering, uneven tire wear, etc... I crawled under it and found nothing loose.. Iam hoping this is a common problem with Fox bodies and sum1 will tell me what a dummy I am... Thanks(in advance)for any thoughts, ideas, or FIXES...

Sounds like bad rack bushings to me.

do you mean when the car is sitting still??? if so this is normal b/c of the caster out cars use. it causes the wheel to shift its axis when turned.

THANKS for the replies guys!!! This "shifting" is noticeable whether the car is sitting still OR moving... I was hoping that it was a common problem... The front end shop that I have used in the past is now closed... Guess its time to find another :-(

with that many miles it could be a varieity of things. have you checked your ball joints, how about your Rack, how about tie rods. i would start checking everything up front, youre bound to find the problem

You're right about"could be anything with that many miles"... The thing still feels pretty tight(front end wise), and no abnormal tire wear... This is the best car I've ever owned-NO abnormal tire wear with 275,000 miles... Sure aint like the Fords I've owned in the past !!!
Iam thinking that "stang 96" pretty much nailed the problem. Something to do with the rack and (possibly) going past the "stops"... Anyway, I gonna crawl back under it and pursue that thought. I really do appreciate the input from you folks!! Bill
