ive never seen this happen before,but i have trans fluid coming out of the end of my cable where it goes into the cluster and its running down the cable towards the firewall.

the drive unit down on the tranny most likely is shot internally and allowing it ti leak staight out the hex mating surface and into the cable sheath

check the end of the cable in the trans. the speedo gear may be cracked and letting fluid into the cable. if you replace the cable, get one from Ford (if you can still get it). the one 5.0 Resto sold me was shorter and ended up way too close to the headers.

this cable only has 5,000 miles on it.and next time im under the car ill pull the cable out and inspect the gear.i think i got another gear laying around.but its not really that big of a deal to me,i was just curious as to why its doing this.and the cable i bought i got from advance auto and you cant use the stock speed sensor with it
