Hey guys.. I have a 95 GT 5.0 and it’s been nothing but hell! Constant issues and I need some help. Let me break it down….
As I accelerate I hear a loud rattling sound. As if a piece of metal is hitting the car but only makes that sound as I accelerate. Does not make that sound, while I'm revving the car in neutral or if I keep my foot on the gas at a steady speed. Only, while I am accelerating.
When I come to a stop the engine idles at 2k rpms. Very rare will it go down. While its doing that, my car is running at 200 degrees. I'm burning oil and you can see the smoke coming from underneath the car. I went to take a look and it seems to be coming from the transmission area.
OHHH.. and while I'm driving, I can't go faster than 60mph or less the transmission will vibrate soo loud I can't hear the radio.
Sooo let's sum this all up....
1. LOUD rattling sound ONLY while accelerating.
2. When stopped, idles at 2k
3. Burning oil from transmission area
4. Transmission vibrates 60+mph. Gear shifter vibrates at any speed.

What kind of condition is your trans mount in? What about your motor mounts? Look at your trans, where is it wet? A leak is obvious but you actually have to look for it.
