Default Plans for the new engine!

Hey all, well I went down and purchased my new engine, along with a new high velocity oil pump, and new pick-up... This thing is awesome, came with 10:1 Compression.. I am going to paint the block and pan etc. My valve covers are Red just like the car, so I was thinking I would paint the block just the cast steel color, then I would paint the oil pan black, just to clean it up.

My dad said to paint the block blue, but then it would not go with the red valve covers, and would look goofy... Any suggestions? I am going to get my gasket set this weekend, so I can start getting ready to drop in the fresh engine 0 miles! woohoo...

I still need new motor mounts, timing chain cover, timing set, and balancer. I should be getting all of this by this coming week, and I will slowly start the process, hopeing to get some pictures to show the progress of the stang.......

for your red car like mine IMO i would go with either ford red or black. I painted mine heads down black and polished the valve covers up. Since you are going to buy new motor mounts i would check the tranny mount too and replace them to poly mounts they are a lot better then stock ones

Yeah, I think I am going to keep the AFR's the color that they came.. Black would be cool, my brother suggested black as well.. hmm maybe I should..

Yea I like the red fox's and black one's they are the best looking. i am going with the factory red, mine came with a silver pin stripe, and I think I am going to get it done again, along with lowering springs and a set of 17x9 Cobra wheels, and get the Mustang GT on the sideskirts and rear bumper painted silver. I can't wait...

Dont paint any alumimum parts bc it will decrease its heat disapation. Leave it bare the way they came and paint the block and accessories.

you can paint it as long as you apply light coats. its when you apply a thick coat that heat dissapation is poor

I never paint motors black, it makes it too hard to see where an oil leak is coming from in case you ever have one. I am a purest when it comes to engine colors, Ford=blue, Chevy=orange, Mopar=Hemi orange. I also don't like to paint anything that is aluminum, unless it is for stealth reasons.
