Default Axle hop...

In the process of building a purpose drag car and am still get a ton of axle hop off the line. Setup in the rear is as follows:

-MT ET drag radials
-spool
-BBK upper and lower control arms
-eibach drag springs
-stock shocks
-kyb quad shocks

i havent installed subframe connectors or reinforced the torque boxes yet but that may be on the list. this is on an 87 lx btw. anyone have any suggestions?

set your pinion angle... which means get some non-****ty control arms.

and get some new shocks meant for giving you that "out of the hole" traction

bbks not worth a damn? what would you consider good control arms?

they are new shocks but of the OE variety, was considering upgrading them.

was also considering a relocation kit

I run UMI lift bars, and will be running the baseline suspensions street launch upper kit. another option to reduce some NVH would be the maximum motorsports lowers, and some other adjustable upper.

the bbk stuff is crap. if you arent going to buy quality components... leave the thing stock

+1 for bbk being junk control arms.

team z, baseline or maximum motorsports would be the 3 companies to look at

Exactly. Those "kits" look good an all but either you will get wheel hop (usually eliminated with lower control arms) or the bushings junk out quick also giving you problems. Then again some people do have good luck with them but usually not for long.
