1995 mustang, low coolant, overheating engine shaking
i drove 50 miles to a concert the other night and the car was driving great. after the show, when i went to drive home, the gauge on the dash said the car was overheating, and the 'low coolant' light was on.i drove a few miles to buy some coolant, tried putting it in, but not much actually got in because i didnt have a funnel and it was so windy out that most of the coolant blew away as soon as it left the bottle. i let the car sit for about a half hour to cool off naturally, turned it on and everything seemed fine.i drove another 15 miles to go to the only 24hr walmart around and find somewhere less windy to add coolant. added more, and drove home. the car seemed a little more rumbly than usual, but nonetheless, seemed okay.i started it 5 hours after i got home to go to work and the engine rumbled and shook very hard when i started it up and drove at low speeds, but no overheating on the gauges, no 'low coolant'. today, its been even worse. it seems like its getting progressively worse daily. it shakes so hard when you start it up that the steering wheel vibrates violently. i checked the coolant levels and none of the coolant seems to have leaked that i put in late saturday night, so i'm not sure its a leak, but it happened suddenly like something got ruptured somehow.has anyone had this problem or have a better understanding of this? i dont have any money until friday and i'd only have enough for a diagnosis, and the repair the following friday, but i'm scared i dont have much longer until something even worse happens as a result of whatever is wrong right now. please, i need some advice desperately *
