Cool NEWER Fox Motor in Old Fox...

Hey yall,

I have a 1987 LX Mustang , I got a 1995 motor that I'm going to buy. I got all the 1987 accesories off a motor.
Can I put a 95 model mustang motor in an 87 Foxbody?
What has to be done?

Yes you can but you will need to swap the timing covers/water pumps.

just use everything off your motor that isnt the heads, block, and internals.

there are some differences in the lower intake that will make some thinks work against you

I think the engine harness is different. at any rate I would follow adder's advice. just use the long block. swap ur intake accesories cover pump harness etc.

It's not a motor, it's an engine.

+1

There are various sensors in different locations on the SN cars than on your fox, swap intakes, plenum, tb etc headers too, bull*&^% egr piping on sn cars come stright up off the 3rd primary, the tps sensors are totally differnt in style and plug, the iac also, the distibutor is different too have to use your original!

that is all i can think of right off hand, and the timing covers are way different use totally different water pumps!
