Water getting past door weather striping
I have been having issues with wet carpet and I have finally tracked it down. After some rain last night I went out and noticed that there was some water puddled up on the bottom of the driver's door sill, on the inside side of the weather striping. I pulled up the weather striping and more water came out. The weather striping is worn but I don't see how it got inside.
Anyone else have this problem? I suspect it may have something to do with the large gap between the top of the door and the roof where water may be getting in then flowing along the weather striping. Weather striping is only $16 at latemodelresto but I'm not sure it will help.

The door is adjustable as to how far it goes in while shut. Tinker with it, try and get it a little tight.
If you can push the door in further, after its already latched, it can go further in adjustment.

mine had the same problem i shimmed the weather stripping out a little but pullinf it off and ran some old wire inside the seal and then put it back on , it pushed the old weather stripping out enough to seal but it was just a bandaid. i plan to replace it one its painted. mine leaked really bad right into yer lap if you turned and all the water came off the roof. talk about a pissed off gf when ya turned left

The door feels like it could go in a bit more, i'll try that.
I just went out and inspected the weather stripping again. I can only find one wet spot, it's right at the the bottom of the door next to the first screw for the plastic strip and joins the carpet and weather stripping. It is wet inside the stripping where it grips to the floor seam. I guess it could still be getting in up top and work its way down to that spot.
