did a pressure test and it held 16 psi for 30 mins.i did re torque the bolts maybe that fixed it????

if you're that far down you may as well just take the heads off. now is not the time to cut corners.. especially with the new top-end.

i used the haynes manual when i did my top-end. most online articles are just for reference. haynes manual has pictured break-downs and specific torque sequences which are critical to head gasket seating. i really took my time and checked everything twice.

when water gets in the motor, the water will evaporate and stick to the valve covers. Just thought you may want to know.

Not really sure why the runner would be gold. does the car smell sweet out the pipes?

its the blow-by in the back cylinders. check the pcv screen... every intake ive ripped off a 5.0 has gold hue on the back.

ok well that's good to hear about the intake.as far as changing the head gasket goes i think that is a good idea.is there a good head gasket that i should be looking for.i had ford racing ones before.and can i re use my arp head bolts.there is next to nothing for miles on em.
