Default new engine

Hi all,
I need help in selecting anothere engine because I ran the last one till it gave. I have a 1984 5.0 hatch back. the engine 302 and is original. It had about 311,000 miles on it but it still had power. If anyone can help, what kind of engine can I get. I love the power and use the car to work everyday. The power is nice to have when you can shift down and at the same time get goreat gas mileage. What type of mods should I look for in my next engine? Thanks[sm=gears.gif]

you should probably do some research and do comoarisons on a rebuild or a crate engine. Or p/u a 351 block and start from scratch. comes down to what you want and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

it all depends on how much gas mileage do you want right? I still get 19 mpg with my 331 so i guess it is possible

Default RE: new engine and upgrades

I was thinking about putting in a 351 but not too sure yet. I wnat the power but gas mileage is a factor too.
Well heres what I have done with the car so far. Its a 1984 mustang hatchback.

1. BBK caster/camber plates
2. K&N filter
3. Centerforce Gold clutch
4. Steeda performance springs (dropped the car about 1 1/2 inch)
5. 240/40R17 and 17X9 cobra rims
6. shorty headers
7. 3 inch duel exhaust, x-pipe, and two super 40 flowmaster mufflers
8. aluminum drive shaft

There are a couple more things that need to be replaced.

1. short throw shefter
2. steeda upper and lower rear control arms
3. heavier duty rear sway bar
4. baer brakes
5. 2 inch cowl induction hood

Not sure what else can be replaced that can help with the performance and handling of the car. Any suggestions????????
I'm sure there are tons of stuff that can be replaced and modified. I'm open to all suggestions. I want a nice car that will turn them heads and a sound that will make my presence known in the area and have all the ladies looking. Thanks for any suggestions
