Default Low Coolant?

The low coolant comes on and off whenever I drive. I've checked all the fluids and I don't understand why the light goes on and off. I pulled the radiador cap out and there was a little gunk on the end of the sensor (I think it was the sensor anyway...), I cleaned most of the gunk off but the light still comes on. The cap itself isn't very snug either. It kinda wobbles a bit, could that be throwing off the sensor? Any ideas? Thanks

maybe you have low coolant, i dont want to sound like a smart *** but check it. My car had semi low coolant on decel it would have enough for the sensor and wen accerlating the low coolant would pop on.

if its the sensor in the reserve bottle. you dont need that damm thing. as long as you keep an eye on your temp gauge and your coolant level
