Jasper AODE vs "lightly modded AODE"
I pulled my tranny from my girls car, it slipped so bad you couldnt get it to move. 95GT
Do i drop the 1400 dollars for a Jasper rebuild? Or the guy that we deal with that does a thorough job, who builds race trannies.
Jasper pros and cons:
100,000 mile 3 year warranty covering parts, and will pay a repair shop (me) $55 an hour for labor if the tranny fails
2nd-3rd gear servos strengthened, lot of little things that caused original trannies to fail, they usually put better stuff in, remanufactured trans.
1400$
My tranny guy pros and cons:
Better clutches, more line pressure for firmer shifts, performance valvebody (i forget what exactly it was) Trans Go shift kit, OEM torque converter, and some other small things i forget exactly what it was. BUT i dont get the Jasper warranty
$1000-1200$ rebuild providing all the hard parts are good, could be more if theres more stuff broken.
ITs going to be a bolt on car, probably 250-275 whp mild use (occasional track passes, daily driver)
Any and all input/expierience is welcome.

With transmissions having a local shop to deal with is so much easier, if anything happens you just show up, not like distant companies that will give you the run around constantly about speaking to some1 about a warranty.
On big money/big part things, in person > over the phone/internet.

I put a Jasper trans into my explorer a couple years back...
It worked... but you could tell it was assembly line performance. Not something that was really payed attention to. They make stock rebuilds for stock cars, and stock parts aren't meant to be driven the way we drive our cars.
