Question slush box question !

Hello to all...I'am new here, and was wondering would an ADO trans work in my 94 GT. 5L... the present ADOE shifts by way of solenoids and the ADO shifts by cable , can I make the swap?... what would happen if the wiring harness was unhooked ? It randomly slips when the throttle is matted from a stop..put in a rebuilt 2000 KMs ago, the old one did the same thing...yes converter was changed.. ( could it be the harness itself ? ).I have a ADO from a 1984 LTD. police interceptor in excellent shape.. planning a 5.8 L swap in the near future..TY in advance for your time ...Daryl

you need an aode/ end of story, you can't just leave the harness un plugged without modding some things

first off you wouldn't want to. the AODE is stronger than the AOD

if you'd lke to compare parts... look at the od band, sun shell, compare the clutches and servo too. im pretty sure the gearing is different. the "wide ratio" kit you can get for the aod i believe is all parts from aode. 2.84 1st vs 2.40 and 1.55 2nd vs 1.47

aode is quite upgraded from aod

but if you'd like to really feel your car... do a t5 swap like stated, and you'd swear you just added 100 hp

if you have to stay auto... look into lentech, you cannot build a trans for what len will sell you one for

i have had 2 aod cars and 3 5-speeds, comparably equipped the t5 will put 10 car lengths on the auto

also fyi... if you stay auto don't go lower than 3k on stall speed, you'll regret it fo sho
