sn95 aode to t5 conversion
i hate to ask a question that has already been asked but ive only read pple sayin "it wont work"
i have a 90 t5 will that fit in my car? is it true that the 94 95 cars have a longer input shaft? if so coud i swap the input on the 90 t5 with one for a 94 95? what about the bell housing and drive shaft?
if i jus used the 90 bell housing and t5 would it be a direct fit?

I wouldn't bother with it and just do a tr3550/3650 swap. They are only like $800 on eBay and way stronger. Then you just need a tremec bell housing, 26 spline clutch, companies sell replacement trans cross-members or you can modify your own, and you'd need a tremec drive-shaft, which ford racing sells or you can get the t5 one shortened. Would be under 2 grand and they have a torque rating of 425/450 ft lbs.

Oh, didn't know this before, but actually says on their site if you got a 3550, the stock t-5 driveshaft would work. I guess you only need a shorter one for the tko 500/600.

The drive-shaft is the same, but you would need to swap to a sn95 bell-housing and input shaft because they are different. Did you pay for the 90 t5 or get it for free?

it was on mid 2000 and up GT's, including the S197's...
with that being said, still look into the TKO's shifting issues at higher rpm's, AND remember that it weighs more than a T5, which will weigh EXACTLY the same with a 300hp gearset as it will with a 600hp gearset.
and no, Fox trannies will NOT work in a SN95, the SN IPS is almost 3/4" longer, thats pretty much the entire length of the pilot shaft input.
an SN trans will work on:
a 94/95 GT
94/95 Cobra
95 Cobra R (although this came stock with the 3550/old school TKO trans anyways)
OP:
look into either Astro Peformance or Modern Driveline for an SN T5 that will embarrass any TKO/3550 in terms of smoothness, weight, and ease of installation...
