Default Air Silencer (93 GT)

Hello everyone,
I am new here and a new mustang owner as well. Perhaps I will give you the story behind my stang another time, but here is a bit of info for now. It is a Coral blue GT vert. with white leather and roof. It only has 78,000 km on it and is in excellent condition. It is all original, but I want to do some mods to it gradually. I have just removed that pesky air silencer and now I have noticed a funny noise when I start it up. Right after it fires up it makes a high pitched GGGrrrpphhhh! er...something like that any ways...... it is fine when you rev it up (no unusual noises noticed) I am just wondering if that noise is common after the air silencer has been removed or is it something a little more serious. (note: It did NOT make this noise before the removel of the said A.S.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks every one for your infanite knowledge.

p.s. I will get pics to post asap.

Thats just the sound of a couple extra ponies being sucked into your engine.

now believe it or not if you keep the stock silecner and modify it some you can use it as a ram air setup.

the air silencer does exactly what its called, its a resonator for the air induction, more noise is normal...
