Default Serpentine Belt Bypass Question

I have heard of bypassing the smog, a/c, and the p/s pump with a shorter belt without actually removing the components themselves. Some say you can't just bypass them, they have to be removed and the eliminator kits have to be installed. Is this true, or can I just buy the shorter belt?

Due to the extremely hot climate and the stupid inspection sticker, I have to have my components in tact with the engine. Besides, I don't think that they are that heavy. I think.

You can run just a shorter belt on the A/C and the smog pump but it's not a wise idea for the power steering. Get a manual steering rack if you want to bypass the p/s. Can anyone tell me what size belt I'm going to need to just bypass the smog pump with a shorter belt, I don't have underdrives btw.

i made a post with the belt sizes and picture of the routes. i think FOX5ogt or whatever his name is helped link the picture

also for the track you can bypass all those. hell in a pinch you could just remove the belt for the 1320 and hurry up and put it back on. its been done before but just becareful doing this and make sure the car is fully charged and nice and cool
