its junk sad to say but ditch it. you got 2 choices start fresh with a roller block or go ahead and totally disassemble that motor ship the block out make it a 306 or larger get an 289 intake a nice 625 carb some decent heads and have a nice stout combo but dont work with what you got now

I traded a 70 olds cutlass sport for this 83 gt because the cutlass would have needed more work than what needs to be done to this gt the only thing is when I got it the engine is froze up it wont turn over we took out the spark plugs and tried to see if it would turn over but just stuck the dude that owned it said it made a ticking noise befor it just shut off so im thinkin it eighter he dropped a valve or spun a bearing or the timing chain come off the motor is not stock or the car for that matter racing suspension flat top pistons a real wild cam it needed head work befor i traded it i drove the car befor the engine gave out its got all the msd blaster coils the 7grand limiter that you can take out when you want to play aroud hard 5spd with short throw shifter compo.orange with purple metalick in the clear coat the interior was just redone proble being if its bored any more than 60 than that block is probably gone if that valve went through the piston and scared the cyl.wall bad tell me what you thin on any of it ideas please

dont reuse anything on that motor start fresh and that why you know its a good combo

that might be but the ole 70 would have great resale value......find and ole 351 since you'll have to most likely have to buy a ton of new parts
