C&L maf causing idle issues with BBK CAI
What the deal witht the Idle, is the bbk CAI causing the C&L 76mm maf meter to read wierd. the idle is always moving from 600-900rpm. How can I keep the 76mm maf and fix the idle issues.whats causing the idle issues.

do you still have the stock intake tubing?? if so switch it back in and see if that cures it. did you reset the computer after doing all your mods?? i wouldnt blame it on the CAI yet, but it could cause problems if the CandL doesnt have a screen on it.

well guess what C&L doesnt like those junk CAI kits. there isnt a difference between a CAI and stock box with a K&N panel filter. both are fed from the outside air. sell the CAI and run a stock box with the C&L tube and a K&N panel filter. drill a few holes in the lower part of the air box for more air in. this will fix the idle problem and is alot cheaper

whats another way, without getting rid of the BBK fenderwall CAI. I like the look of the chrome CAI, but I happen to a stock air intake box with a k&n filter, I think ill hook it up...IDK

yeah, the air doesnt make a straight shot into the maf with the CAIs, some people have solved this by moving the maf but you're better off junking the CAI. an idle air adjuster might fix the problem but i wouldnt bet on it.

You can also try "clocking" your MAF. Rotate it to different positions to get a better reading of airflow. It has worked for some on the corral.net site but in the end I got rid of my C&Hell meter and went back to stock. Despite popular belief you don't NEED a MAF until you peg the stock one. If you read higher then 4vdc at wide open throttle its time for an upgrade. I have pretty standard mods and I noticed the car runs, idles, and performs better with the stock MAF. And yes I reset the computer numerous times, changed all the sensors, took it to numerous shops and so on, in the end it was the POS C&Hell meter. Hope you don't waste as much money as I did on it....
