I think that in order to do it you are going to have to upgrade your brake system. Are you switching the rear for gears or just for brakes?

cant be done. exploder rear ends are set up for leak springs, you have coils
since they are setup for leafs, you would have nowhere to attach your upper and lower control arms..

and IIRC, the diff is off center

so nope... wont work

as far as the leaf springs are concerned thats the easy part. My buddy who owns the wreking yard where I'm getting all these parts is a master welder. So hacking off the leaf mounts and making coil mounts is no prob...but I read somewhere that the offset is different...thats why I was looking for a thread on this subject

and I'm doing it for the brakes. i know the master cylinder and proportioning valve are going to have to be replaced, along with running brake lines to the rear...but thats no prob I'm getting all these parts dirt cheap....way cheaper then a conversion kit

if you are just doing it for the brakes... buy a 94-98 rear end... I dont care how good a welder your buddy is, he isnt going to mount upper control armmounts to a cast differential pumpkin...

and like I said.. the diff isnt centered on an exploder rear end (iirc).
