Question Supercharger/Sct Problem

Heres the deal...Car was tuned with 10psi then taken to track and the sleeves on the supercharger discharge tube came unclamped. Also, changed coolant temp sensor b/c i seen it was cracked and belt for supercharger just to make it new. Now at track when i went back the psi is between 1-5psi and its like i'm running just all motor. Could the sct need retuning or ?? Confused on this one... Thanks

Are you using the same size belt. (slipping) If so your boost should be the same. Is your car running as good as it did with 10psi? If not your loosing boost.

okay I tightend the belt down tighter and the problem still exist only putting out 4psi instead of 10psi.. Only thing I can think is maybe a retune since sleeves came off after that one run maybe, any other suggestions?

tune wont help your boost situation... start looking for leaks in your charge pipes, and vac leaks

+1, also check to make sure the bypass valve isnt leaking. from reading your original post, you either dont have the charge pipe on tight or the belt is loose. make sure the belt is incredibility tight, way tighter then the accesory belt. there should be almost no way you can push on the belt. if you push on the sc belt and it deflects more then about a half inch, its too loose. if your putting the sc belt on and tightening it by yourself, i guarrenty its loose. im a big guy (250#) and even i had trouble tightening my sc belt by myself back when i had a v1. i would put a breaker bar on the tensioner pulley and pull down, while doing that id need some one else to tighten the bolts.

also, what brand belt are you using? i had the best luck with dayco polycog belts

i ended up buying this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Vorte...Q5fAccessories
to do belt swaps. then i got smart and got rid of the sc all together

It had a Napa belt on it so I just went ahead back with a Napa belt. I'm gonna get that tensioner and see if that helps. Thanks. How do you like turbos compared to superchargers?
