Exclamation Overheating

I have a 94 ford mustang gt 5.0 with vortec supercharger, new water pump, new griffin radiator & 2 fans (1 in front and 1 in back) we have tried 195 & 185 deg. thermostat . It did run cooler when we put a center hole in the thermsotat but we figured that wouldnt last long. Any ideas on how to get it to run cooler with the thermostat in it? Its running at around 200-210. I know thats not bad but once it gets there it just keeps climbing.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have replaced everything that would cause it to over heat. One question the fans are new, but how about the device that closes to turn them on at the right temperature. The fans do run is the question? Good luck.

My best bet would be that the fan in front is blowing out instead of sucking in, essentially air locking the radiator and not cooling anything.

Remove the one blocking the radiator from the front. Should only need one. Hopefully you don't have a head gasket going south and putting compression in the cooling system.

When does it run over the thermostat temperature?

On the highway, when stopped and how long does it take to heat up?

Does it ever run cool?

stock programing calls the fan on @ 208 and off @ 204 so if you say it runs 200-210 thats right in ball park.

i know everyone says this but with a tune (quarterhorse and binary editor) you can call your fan on @ any temp you want... not to mention tune every aspect of your vehicle.. even shut off the annoying mil light for no egr and air pump

ps good call mattdel

Cool

take the fan off the front of the radiator it is not helping it is actually hurting since you have one behind the radiator too. it restricting airflow because it is blocking space for air to flow throuh even though it is pushing air it isnt helping.
