Default install help 70\30 lw

i'm putting my lake wood 70/30's on my lx and was wondering how many shims you guys used.i used three and it went together fine but after tightning with the impact still had slop.so i added the second on one side and now i can't get the bolt through. i can get it through one side of the strut, spindle and the four shims but need about an eighth of inch to get it through the other side of strut.before i hammer on my new struts i fugure i'd check to see if i'm doing something wrong.

well if anyone has to do it,i used all four shims and beat it on with a bfh.the reason is that they make one strut for all years and models 79 up.they said gt-no shims,lx use shims.the bottom strut mount is kinda v shaped and it will sit funny in the rear mount.so that's were the hammer came in. otherwise it was a smooth install.

They are also made to fit over the bigger 4 cylinder spindle without grinding and most V8 applications will need the shims. I think I used all four back when I had my 90/10s. Im glad you got it all to work.
