the car is a 1988 302 sd. just put the motor back in the car and it wont start. so we check for spark and it's getting spark at all 8 cylinders. check for fuel, it's got good fuel pressure, hooked up a little led bulb to the injector harness and when cranking the light does not flash. however with the key on there is power to the injectors, just nothing switching telling them to pulse. where should we go from here? any grounds or main wires we can check? point me in the right direction please.

strange that you would have spark but no injector pulse. both are controlled by the PIP.
lemme do some reading and get back to this.

My best guess at this point would be to trace the PIP wire from the TFI to the EEC.
Blue wire off the TFI, goes to pin 56 on the EEC. There should be some sort of shield inside the loom to prevent signal distortion, also. See if the signal is being output and reaching the EEC undistorted.

got it figured out! turns out there was an open on the tps signal wire. found the short and it started pulsing. not sure what this has to do with the injectors but it fixed it lol.
