My cigarette lighter doesn't work. I tried replacing the fuses and nothing changed so i bought the lighter assembly from LMR. Having trouble figuring out how to install though, don't want to break anything. Can anyone help???

I was having trouble figuring out how to take the plastic off that the old one is screwed into. I was able to partially pull it off and connect the new one while still in my hand to the wires but it still didnt work. What would be the next step? I really know nothing and need detailed info.
