quik is exactly right, the stock box when modified, or even stock with the silencer off does a good job of getting plenty of cool outside air into the intake tract, the bottleneck is at the very top of the stock system where is goes almost 90° into the TB. the setup he speaks of will give you the same or more gain than an aftermarket CAI, and wont cause the idle problems.

True, so if you were going to get anything that replaces the intake hosing, get the C&L power pipe or whatever it's called, it goes inbetween the MAF and the TB
