Question need some help with gt40p heads

Hi all,
Need some help, I installed gt 40p heads on my stock 1988 5.0 HO and when i tighten down my rocker i have alot of lash left, do i need to get longer push rods? or is there something else i need to do?

Would anyone know the length of the push rod if that is the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help

Mike

p.s. i also installed new lifters if this helps anyone to help me

if you are using stock pedastal rockers and stock push rods and a stock cam, the stock length are fine, the lifter plunger collapse when no hydraulic pressure is present which is why yuo have lash, no worry, however if you have a non stock cam and are using roller rockers, you need to measure for length, no ifs ands or buts...

Thanks alot for your help. Thought my pony broke a leg and was going to have to shot it.

Thanks again for your help

Lifters need to pump up. Can always take the distributor out and spin the oil pump drive rod counterclockwise. Spin with a drill and get oil in lifters. Just start will quit rattling in couple minutes.
