I had a similar problem once on a different car that ended up being the roll pin that holds the distributor gear had snapped. The rotor would rotate from the gears sticktion to the shaft then let loose and it would die. It would run sometimes others not........took me a while to figure out.

Check the fuel pressure, sounds like a bad fuel pressure regulator or a air leak between the MAF and throttle body.

Well it isn't the ignition module. Just replaced it. Still runs like ***...
