need help mustang wont start
I have a 92 Lx 5.0. it died on me the other day in my garage and now wont start. the fuel pump wont stop running I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator and ignition moduel. and it still wont shut off. I even got a diffrent fuel pump because I thought it was bad. the car has cold air induction kit on it headers full flowmaster exhaust and underdriive pulleys with a 3.73 gear. this is getting really expensive could really use the help any ideas, thanks.

I dont know very much but if you could get to the wires and run a toggle switch to the fuel pump that should make it to where you sorta manually control the fuel pump. plus toggle switches are cheap lol and it may solve your problem

Definitely an electrical issue! Nothing was wrong with any of the pumps! The car will not start because it is flooded(more gas than air to ignite) check your fuse panel under the hood for fuel pump fuse should be one of the larger transisters but disconnect the battery first

idk what is up with the 2 people above me, but... no... wrong.
First of all, the injectors are only opened as a primer when the key is initially turned on. The car isn't flooded unless he's been turning the key on-off-on a zillion times.
Secondly, the PCM controls the fuel pump relay. It has a timer in which it engages the power for the relay for the injector prime. When the timer is over, it yanks the power from the relay so the pump shuts off, until the car is in a running state, in which it re-applies power to the relay and the pump is triggered full time.
I'd check the EEC power relay. The FP relay has 2 incoming power supplies. One of them straight from the battery, one of them from the EEC. If the key is turned on, both of those power supplies are capable of triggering the relay, but only the EEC power relay can turn it off. The relay is located behind the kickpanel on the passenger side, directly above the PCM.
