460 fox header alternative(s)??
I have a completely gutted '82 Capri and a 1976 T-bird 460/C6. Goal is 10's, preferably mid 10's
I have a bone stock 460 from a '76 Thunderbird. First thing is a set of D0VE heads with some mild port work and Manley SS SCJ valves that came off an 9sec N/A Torino so they should flow good enough for my needs. Also picked up the Hooker swap headers and a Canton oil pan kit. That stuff set me back about $900. I am planning on using a Ford racing intake (should I go sinlge or dual plane) which is about $150 shipped to my door, a Camshaft of course (not sure on which yet) which will cost me about $200 for a cam/lifter kit, and a holley 750/850 carb which will run me like $150-$200 used.
That gets me to about $1500 which is around where I was hoping to keep the engine budget. Does that seem like a decent setup (depending on the cam of course)? Also, how much will those D0VE heads raise my compression? I think it would put me in the 9.2:1 range but my math could be way off so...

Your cost estimates are all far too low, I also saw your thread on 460ford asking the same thing.
Best bet for headers is to buy a used set. I just picked up a pair of hooker super comps a few weeks ago for $100.
Keep looking and you will find a used set for decently cheap.
